Led by Dr. McVane, the Libertas Center conducted a half-day training in September on the Forensic Medical/Mental Health Evaluation of Torture Survivors, including a legal and social overview, attended by nearly 20 Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics Attendings and Residents.
In March 2018, the Libertas Medical Director gave the keynote address at an Elmhurst Hospital Women’s History Month event titled “Honoring Women Who Fight All Forms of Discrimination.” The presentation focused on the work of the Libertas Center and other health care disparity challenges and was attended by over 150 doctors, social workers, and other health care professionals.
The NPR health radio show ‘The Pulse’ profiled the work of the Libertas Center.
The Libertas Center held a psychiatry case conference with psychiatry residents at Elmhurst Hospital.
Clinical Case Manager Liz McInnes will be participating in a panel discussion and the Libertas Center’s Photovoice project will be on display.
