Maria Lozano-Vargas, BS, MS

Maria Lozano-Vargas, BS, MS, currently serves as Libertas’ Data & Program Coordinator. She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a focus in Healthcare Informatics and a Master’s degree in Applied Health Informatics with a concentration in Data Analysis, both from Stony Brook University in New York. As a proud Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) alumna and a first generation immigrant from Colombia, she has been driven by her personal background to participate in various collaborative programs that provide multidisciplinary support to students of systematically disadvantaged populations. She served as a Teaching Assistant, Success Coach and Graduate Assistant for the EOP program of Stony Brook University throughout her college career. She also had the chance to travel abroad with NGO Students Helping Honduras to learn about educational barriers and contribute to the building of school projects alongside masons and other volunteers in the country. She believes in bridging the gap in digital literacy education and is eager to utilize her growing data experience as a tool to support Libertas’ cause.
